Latest From OC 2050: Letter to Supporters, 12/5/2025
Dear Friends,
The long, tense, crowded City Council meeting on December 4th ended with City Council referring the question of rehabilitation designation for Wonderland Pier to the Planning Board. People read this outcome in different ways. Some were overjoyed. Some felt abandoned by a Council that just months ago rejected this very idea 6-1. Others saw Council learning about a complex issue and making a cautious course correction.
In all honesty, we are truly disappointed that certain members of Council chose to reverse their votes. But we also understand that they were in the difficult position of trying to balance competing pressures. And the good news, if we look for it, is that we could now be on a path that brings the community together—if we take them at their word.
